It's a hoot! Molly, the barn owl, has her own online show
Can 66,000 people be wrong? At last count, 66,607 people have given a thumbs up to Molly the California barn owl and her two surviving chicks by watching them develop on a 24/7 Web cam.
"The Molly Show" is the real life version of the movie "The Truman Show."
In the film, Truman had cameras focused on him 24/365 and captured his every move from the time he was born.
In "The Molly Show," a video cam complete with audio has been focused on Molly, a San Marcos, California, barn owl since she laid four eggs. Another camera is set up outside the owl house where Molly roosts when she's not foraging for food for her little brood of two surviving chicks.
The hatchlings are now about four-weeks-old, fully feathered in downy baby fluff and have hearty appetites.
A warning for the faint-of-heart or weak-of-stomach, Molly brings them field mice to feast on. Sometimes she helps them by ripping into them and sometimes she leaves them whole for the two chicks to serve up their own meal.
They're not the most beautiful babies in the world, but like all babies they're so sweet and cute you can become addicted to checking in on their progress several times a day, and have a rare opportunity to watch nature at her best.
The Web cam is hosted by Sportsman's Paradise Online.
