Barr Laboratories, Inc., a division of Teva Pharmaceuticals, issued a voluntary recall of one lot of its 20 mg amphetamine tabs because the lot is believed to contain “super-potent” tablets due to inaccurate measuring.

Barr’s recall notice, found on the FDA website, warned that a “supratherapeutic” dose of the dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate and amphetamine sulfate mixture could lead to adverse cardiovascular, neurologic, psychiatric and gastrointestinal reactions.

Customers who have obtained pills from lot number 311756 are told to stop taking the drug and return it to their pharmacy or distributor. The oval, peach colored tablets are sold in 100 count bottles. They are debossed with b/973 on one side and 2/0 on the other.
